Betting Glossary
Whether you are new or experienced — knowing these key terms makes it easier to decide how to bet.
Asian Handicap
In Asian Handicap betting, one team is given a goal or run advantage to reduce the gap in strength between the two sides. There is no draw outcome — this limits the bet to two options.
Over-Under (Totals)
A bet on whether the total runs or goals in a match will be above a set number. In cricket, this also applies to the run line for each over.
Odds Format
Decimal (e.g. 2.25), fractional (5/4) and American (+125) — all three formats express the same probability, just written differently.
RTP (Return to Player)
The average percentage of total bets a game returns to players over the long term. An RTP of 96% means an average return of ৳96 for every ৳100 wagered — this is a statistical figure, not a guarantee.
House Edge
The mathematical advantage held by the casino or betting platform, which works gradually across every game. The lower the house edge, the better it is for the player.
Wagering Requirement
The condition specifying how many times you must bet before withdrawing bonus funds. The tk999 welcome bonus has a 20x wagering requirement — meaning ৳20,000 in total bets for a ৳1,000 bonus.
Live Dealer Casino
The ability to play Baccarat, Roulette or Blackjack via live video stream with a real dealer. The game is played with actual cards, not a computer algorithm.
Slot Volatility
High volatility means big wins come less often but in larger amounts. Low volatility means smaller wins come more frequently. Choose based on your budget and playing style.
Progressive Jackpot
A pooled prize that grows from multiple players' bets and keeps increasing until someone wins it. Once won, it resets back to zero.
Cashback
A benefit where you get back a fixed percentage of your net loss for the week. It does not return the full loss — only a portion is given back as a rebate.
Multi Bet
Multiplying the odds of several matches or events together and placing a single bet. If all selections win, the payout is much higher — but if any one loses, the entire bet is lost.
Betting Exchange
Players can set their own odds and bet against other players — you can take both Back (betting on a win) and Lay (betting on a loss) positions.
How weekly cashback works
Each week, your net loss is calculated by subtracting your total winnings from your total losses. Cashback is paid on that net loss at the rate for your VIP tier. The more you play, the higher your VIP tier.
Calculation example (Silver tier):
Say your net loss for a week is ৳20,000.
The Silver tier rate is 0.5%.
Cashback = ৳20,000 × 0.5% = ৳100.
This ৳100 will be added to your balance the following week.
Remember — cashback reduces losses, but it is not a guaranteed way to win.
To learn more about VIP tiers, see tk999 VIP benefits and tier details.
Common misconceptions vs. the facts
A slot that hasn't paid out for a long time will soon give a big payout.
Every spin is independent and determined by a random number generator. Previous results have no effect on the next spin.
After a losing streak, the chances of winning the next bet increase.
Each round is separate — a losing streak has no influence on future results. The house edge stays the same at all times.
There is a guaranteed winning strategy in Baccarat.
Baccarat is entirely chance-based. No system can change the house edge over the long run.
Depositing more money increases your chances of winning.
There is no connection between the amount deposited and game outcomes. RTP and house edge do not change based on deposit size.
Playing at a certain time of day gives a better chance of winning.
The game algorithm is time-independent. Morning or night — the RTP is always the same.
Starting with small bets and gradually increasing them makes a system work.
Martingale and similar strategies cannot mathematically eliminate the house edge; they actually carry the risk of depleting a large balance faster.
